Welcome to Scot Alexander's Mountain View Daylily Nursery.

The leader in mail order Daylilies in Australia.

Scott has been growing & breeding Daylilies for well over 30 years.

Mountain View Daylily Nursery is a fully accredited and the premier supplier of quality Daylilies to many leading retail mail order nurseries Australia wide.
In the past, Scott has bred many beautiful and hardy daylily varieties suitable for many areas in Australia.
His goals were to breed fragrant doubles (In Excess, Heaven Scent, Sweet Jeunesse etc), bold-coloured varieties (Maleny Sizzler. Shocking, Crikey), long-flowering yellows  (Sunline, Perliffic, Maleny Bonanza) and miniatures (Maleny Flirt, Little Bit Lively, Maleny Sweet Delight). Now semi-retired, Scott will begin ‘dabbling’ again and cross some of his own varieties with the fancy new USA imports.
We believe that buying a collection is very good way for beginners to start growing their first daylilies.
Scott selects hardy varieties to make up these collections so they should suit gardeners throughout most States. The Special Collections like The Connoisseurs, Double Delights etc are excellent value and are considered an excellent way to add to your daylilies. Scott posts new Collections on our Facebook page with images of each variety that will be in it.
For many years Scott imported a selection of stunning new release varieties from daylily breeders in the USA.
They are proving to be very popular with daylily collectors and some sell-out very quickly. It then takes 9 to 12 months to build up the numbers again before we can list them for sale again. You will see the unavailable and sold out varieties in the shop and if you wish to reserve one of these varieties, please email us.

The love of gardening and a neighbourly gesture thirty-eight years ago introduced teacher Scott Alexander to the intriguing world of daylilies.

From creating a nursery,  surviving the global financial crisis, and supplying thousands of edible buds to a famous restaurateur, Gay Liddington went to hear the story.
